Through soundless tones, Gnosis acts as an influencer, bringing the words and sounds of a disharmonious world back into harmony with God’s creation.
According to current research, the sound “hmmm” is a so-called primal sound. Apparently when there is external silence, humans soon begin to hum, whistle, or sing, responding to silence with sound. In the evolution of animals and humans, sounds were precursors to the development of language. The sound “hmmm” is described as an original form of human communication. When we hum, this sound is produced.
Parvathi Kumar points out in his book Sound that during meditation, rhythmic inhalation produces the sound SO, while exhalation produces the sound HAM, which is reminiscent of “hmmm”. If the consonants S and H are omitted from So Ham, OM remains. This OM is the primal sound that is heard in the centre of the spiritual heart. In Eastern traditions, the aim is to establish a connection with the OM that arises within. This silent OM resonates continuously within us. It represents cosmic vibration, the origin of all being, the absolute, and the unmanifest.
According to Helena P. Blavatsky’s The Voice of the Silence, this “silent sound” is also called the voice of the spirit, which resonates as an incessant inner call. It is heard and answered. However, this occurs according to the prevailing states of individual and collective consciousness and, in the absence of human enlightenment, in a disharmonious manner.
Purification and the Construction of a New Resonance Body
However, as human beings experience increasing suffering, they become ready to turn towards the essence within themselves. This search, this desire to encounter the higher within us, is initiated by all wisdom traditions and is accompanied by a profound purification of every aspect of the human being: thinking, feeling, willing, and acting.
This is an active process that involves the development of higher consciousness, a higher-vibrating soul body. The daily reception of new etheric forces, symbolised in Christianity by Holy Communion, creates a special and entirely new atmosphere of light. This enables the development of a finer etheric body.
This process happens through the spiritual breath, which can be assimilated only by a purified heart. As this inner work progresses, it is accompanied by the opening up of higher spiritual faculties of perception that cannot be achieved through the ordinary sensory organs. These new spiritual perceptive organs enable the revelation of spiritual knowledge or Gnosis.
Through insight and knowledge, our natural consciousness which was previously hindered by self-will and dissonance from perceiving the primordial sound, becomes ready to place itself at the service of higher human development.
The Word
Listening to this soundless sound, the inner OM, or to the “voice of silence”, is also referred to as a hidden communion with God. After thorough inner work, accompanied by many setbacks and deceptions of all kinds, human beings will one day be able to hear the WORD without disturbing interfering noise.
Renewed by the forces of light and the Holy Spirit, the human being becomes a suitable instrument upon which the harmonious primordial triad of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit can resound as higher reason, pure love, and wisdom. David Hawkins describes this great act of creation as a perfectly coordinated dance of evolution.
Gnostic Magic
Those who become true God-men through transformation and union with the God within them resonate in harmony with the great song of God. Together with many other suitable instruments, their melody will bring forth a new heaven and earth: a harmonious melody of the spheres.
*This refers to the promotion of a new, Gnostic-inspired lifestyle founded on values rooted in higher reason, pure love and living spiritual power.
