If I Could Silence Time

If I could silence time,
conspire against the passing hours…

But the relentless clock
refuses to pause,
no matter the story.
Impatient,
it keeps its relentless rhythm,
the ticking of each moment,
and second by second
it drags me along.

It turns, and turns again.
Never in reverse.
Never returning
what has been wagered and lost.
There are no victors over time.
Yet the struggle remains.
And so I will fight, without surrender,
until I find the portal
the ancient aeon cannot cross.

Beyond that portal,
the heart vibrates in such a way
that time, at last yielding,
is transformed
into the eternal present.
