The beginning of the path lies in the heart.
We read in the Book of Hosea (4:6): “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”. What knowledge is meant here? Knowledge of the task that every person has to fulfill in life: to realize the path of return to the original homeland of humanity. The condition for this return is a fundamental change in man, the evangelical Rebirth by Water and Spirit (John 3:5).
At this point the question must arise: What will happen if a person does not fulfill this task for some reason? The answer is: He will. He will certainly fulfill it, if not in this incarnation, with the help of the current personality, then in one of the following ones, through the efforts of another personality. Why can we speak of this with such certainty? Because humanity, which has excluded itself from the Divine world, is included in a Divine rescue plan. However, we will not develop this extensive issue here, because it would require presenting the complex issue of the totality of man as a microcosm, the role of the earthly personality, and also reincarnation, to which not the personality, but the microcosm is subject. The Reader will certainly find a discussion of these topics in other articles of the Logon Magazine [1]. At the moment, we present the topic of the kundalini of the heart.
The perfect world to which man is to return serves him with constant help for the possibility of this task, through among others actions, its envoys, and by permeating the earthly atmosphere with a gnostic radiation that carries knowledge, strength and appeal. Man can access this knowledge, accept strength, and respond to the appeal only because in his heart there is a special contact point, a relic of immortality, a single atom that does not belong to this transient world, but to the perfect world. The Rosicrucians call this atom the spark of the Spirit, the rose of the heart. The moment this atom begins to speak in the heart of man, and thus becomes active, a breakthrough occurs – the unearthly power of the rose of the heart awakens. This is the power of the kundalini, the kundalini of the heart, necessary for the realization of the path of return. It is the power of eternity, the power of salvation, the holy fire, the universal medicine, pure Divine creative energy.
Generally, we hear about the kundalini energy located in the lower part of the spine, in the sacral plexus. It is called the ‘kundalini serpent’. In some circles, various practices are used to stimulate and raise it to the head chakras, through the spinal canal. However, the Rosicrucians do not use these practices for important reasons. They start with the heart. The kundalini of the heart must first be activated in a person. This happens on the one hand, thanks to the Divine rescue plan which encompasses all of humanity, and on the other, under the influence of the exhausting search for a way out of the labyrinth of life, which drives man continually. The inability to find a solution eventually leads the seeker to abandon the search on the horizontal level and to grasp Ariadne’s thread.
The awakening of the kundalini of the heart and its activation has far-reaching effects. Through the circulation of the blood, this divine energy enters the head, exerting its influence on the pituitary gland, the centers of thought, will and the senses, and only from there it flows down the right strand of the sympathetic nerve to the base of the spine. Thus, the heart kundalini takes a roundabout route, through the head and via the sympathetic nerve, purifying the chakras it encounters on its way, and finally reaching the sacral plexus, where, as mentioned, the earthly kundalini force, burdened and polluted by the karma of the individual, resides. In this meeting the heart kundalini radically purifies the kundalini of the sacral plexus: the ‘earthly kundalini serpent’ is killed. And when this work is accomplished, the purified kundalini force will then move up the left strand of the sympathetic nerve back to the head, to the pituitary gland that has already been mastered, and then to the pineal gland that has not yet been conquered.
The circulation of the forces of Divine Light in man has been accomplished. The effects of this are blessed. The light emanating from both strands of the sympathetic nerve of the earthly personality touch the firmament of the microcosm, strewn with a multitude of lights, which influence the personality and have held it in bondage until now. The power of this emanating Light extinguishes these, and sets in motion new lights.
In this way, a revolution takes place in the microcosmic firmament, an auric rebirth, which is the basis of transfiguration! The personality, which has long sought to walk and emulate the path of return, is now subject to the influence of a new microcosmic heaven, and will have to respond positively to this changed heaven!
The beginning of the path therefore lies in the heart.
