Waiting for the Unexpected

Waiting for the Unexpected

Living in the spirit is living constantly in the unexpected.

On the spiritual path there is often talk about how connected we are from the very beginning. This inner connection is the basis for the entire path. The immanent spirit that is deeply hidden and latent, connects us with the transcendent spirit, the great spirit outside of us.

Nevertheless, “everything is different”.

Focusing on old ways of thinking and on logical, methodical reasoning with plans and intentions that have already been approved by our will, only relate to the personality. Nothing is surprising. Nothing leads to inner wonder. The spirit inside us does not move and remains latent.

When in love, love does not plan. Similarly, the spirit inside us moves when we make room for it and puts our personal plans aside, not insisting on them. The inertia of our own plans and expectations is quite strong and long-lasting, even instinctive, and corresponds to our inclinations.

When we gradually mature to a state of inner surrender by saying, “Thy will be done,” then through this loss and retreat, the spirit within us moves and connects more with that outside of us. This fiery ignition of higher divine energy transforms, burns away old oppressive bonds and thus frees us.

When the need to shift the focus exists, the pathway of living is revealed step by step, day by day. Something completely different comes from our hearts and minds, something never expected. Sometimes these things were suspected, seen, and recognized, but not dared to be acted upon before.

In the end, we marvel at our courage to live in the unexpected. It comes from within and manifests itself as an unexpected inner power. We entrust our ways of being to this inner strength. Living in the spirit is living constantly in the unexpected. We expect nothing and live in openness with a humble and courageous quiet waiting.

We wait for the spirit to move us and to see if and how it will guide us.

It seems it has no plan but it does have a plan.

A higher absolute divine plan driven by spiritual laws in which we participate by entering into its sphere of force and energy.

There is no emptiness here, only fullness of the spirit.

The fullness of the unexpected, which we wait for without any expectation.
